The Shows of San Francisco

Posted by admin on 2nd December 2008

showWhen visiting San Francisco, finding a way to unwind at the end of a long day of sight seeing isn’t always the easiest thing in the world to do. After dinner the choices for entertainment often seem limited because you don’t really want to become too wired from your activities to find peaceful sleep later. Perhaps this is why most shows are shown in the evening. San Francisco certainly has quite a few options for shows to see.

If you like old musicals, then 42nd Street Moon is a great place for you to look for your entertainment. They like to take old Broadway musicals that haven’t been over performed and rehash them to the delight of the audience and the cast. By breathing new life into these sometimes lost classics they are doing a service to both the original masters of these musicals and to the audiences they now play for.

If you need something a little less rowdy and rambunctious to see you into your night time routine, then perhaps the Smuin BalletSmuin Ballet will have something that is more in line with your needs. This ballet company is bringing new appreciation to the art of dance and delighting audiences in the process. By bridging the gap between traditional ballet and modern dance this company is reaching a much broader audience than many dance troupes that have come before and since. Really and truly if you have the opportunity to see one of their performances I highly recommend that you do so. You just might find that you are their newest fan.

If you have varied or eclectic tastes, then Old First Concerts may be a great place for you to unwind after a long day of shopping, sight seeing, and touring wine country. This interesting venue presents concerts of many colors and voices it would seem. There is no one particular style of music that is allowed or disallowed here, rather the professional quality of the musical style is more important than the actual style of the music. I think that this very fact alone makes it quite unique and worth a listen. You might hear something you’ve never heard before and leave with an appreciation you would have never discovered had you not dropped in.

If you haven’t guessed, I’m a huge fan of trying things that are different and slightly outside the realm of the mundane. I have no problems stepping away from the conventions of normal society and wearing many different hats. Perhaps that is the reason that I find my next suggestion so appealing and fun! Beach Blanket Babylon is the perfect way to mock societal norms. The costumes are outrageous and the hats are bigger than a tall tale and it’s all in the name of good clean fun. I seriously recommend this show to anyone who has ever had even the slightest hint of a sense of humor.

We all know that it is often difficult to unwind in a new city where you only know those that you are traveling with, you aren’t sleeping in your own bed, and you are missing some of the comforts of home (like a work day and a commute to exhaust you). For those of us who have been there and done that, it is much easier to unwind after enjoying a nice show or entertainment along similar lines. It could be something as simple as taking in a movie that you might have wanted to see but never find the time to at home. A vacation is your time to rest and relax, make the most of it.

Italy - marvelous traveler place

Posted by admin on 27th November 2008

ItalyMarvelous traveler place for artwork fans is Italy. Weather condition in this state is pleasant despite pretty heat summers. Winters are moderate, almost with no snow. The perfect time to get to Italy is spring and autumn, as in this periods country is not overcrowded and someone may slowly admire all its places of interest. Italy is known worldwide for its pizza and pasta, which are very delicious here.

Italian is widely used and is the legalese. English isn’t very familiar to the residents. Family bonds are of utmost significance in this place and for this reason community etiquette rules signify very much to the locals. There is a large influence of the Roman Catholic Church on the traditions in this country. There is a high content of chlorine in running waters, so bottled water is recommended for staying well during the journey. Since Italian is spoken widely, it is very advised to learn several widely used Italian phrases which can be of a great use. Social gatherings call for official clothes, nonetheless anyone is able to dress in unceremonious clothes in other cases. At several sacred spots, sleeveless blouse and shorts are forbidden. Hence they are better kept off. Pochettes and billfolds must be attentively watched over and in case of any stealing, guard must be informed about the occurence.

Alitalia is the national airline of Italy. Multitude of other air travels link to Italy from USA, Canada and Australia and there is large struggle to attract passengers providing a wide range of offers to visitors. Rome airport is located 26 km away from the town and it takes 45 minutes to get there from the airport. Trains link directly to Termini Station from where one has the possibility to hire a taxi to get to his goal. Duty free stores, bank, automobile rent and eateries are the additional facilities provided at this airport. Milan has another famous airport, which is at a remoteness of 45km from the city.

Brindisi, Ancona, Naples and Venice are the key seaports of Italy. Italian State Railways connects a lot of European cities. But, Eurostar supplies the quickest train facility. If preferring to drive, keep in mind to carry international driving permit and international insurance permit. Highways link Italy to France, Austria and Switzerland. Many coach facilities are offered from the adjacent states.

Cabrillo National Monument

Posted by admin on 24th November 2008

Located in San Diego California, the Cabrillo National Monument provides a historic lighthouse with plenty of activities.  There are great views here as well, with tidepools, flora and fauna, whales to watch, and even military history.

The Monument offers hiking along designated trails, bicycling on paved roadways, and swimming within the park boundaries.  Fishing is permitted here as well, with hook and line - although only one fish may be taken.  When walking the trails and exploring, make
sure to be on the lookout for cliff areas, as they can be very unstable.

Cabrillo National Monument

A lot of visitors come to the National Monument to enjoy the breathtaking views of the San Diego Bay and the Pacific Ocean.  Because of this very reason, the park has become of the best harbor views anywhere in California - or the world for that matter!

The tidepools are great to see here as well, althoughyou should always be careful.  Even though they are great to admire, the surface may be very slippery.

Anytime you are in the San Diego area, a trip to the Cabrillo National Monument is more than worth the time.  You can walk the trails, have fun, or just enjoy the breathtaking views of San Diego that only the Cabrillo National Monument can provide you with.

Circus Circus Family Fun Vegas Style

Posted by admin on 22nd November 2008

Circus Circus Las Vegascircus boasts of being the most kid friendly hotel in Las Vegas. With its big top attitude and its indoor amusement park it very well may be. In addition to being the most kid friendly hotel on the Las Vegas strip Circus Circus Hotel is also the fifth largest hotel in the world. Of course this is at the moment and that is subject to change at any time.

The beauty of this particular hotel doesn’t lie so much in its size or even the circus like atmosphere. The charm lies in the fact that it was something new and relatively untried along the Vegas strip. Rather than build to suit the gamblers they were hoping to attract, this particular hotel was wise enough to offer something new and untried by appealing to families with children rather than solely to gamblers.

The gamble seems to be paying off in a city that is known for both its hits and its misses. Other hotels and casinos are also working to cultivate the family friendly image that Circus Circus has basically proven. Not only did this hotel build The Adventuredome Theme Park they also decided to make accommodations even more family friendly by accommodating RVs at the Circusland RV Park. This offers a great place for families to stay that might not otherwise grace the theme park, hotel, or the casino.

Don’t forget that there is a casino involved and that is the primary purpose of this gigantic hotel, resort, and theme park. The casino makes the expense of building it all very much worthwhile and brings in big business of its own each and every day. In grand Vegas style there is also the requisite onsite shopping and of course full service of wedding options in addition to a wedding chapel and banquet facilities in which to hold the reception of your dreams. The shopping at Circus Circus offers everything from ultra exclusive boutique shops and salons to stores such as Under $10 and the trading Post, which offers fad jewelry and other kid friendly gifts.

This hotel has a somewhat unique concept that sets it apart from the many others along Vegas’ strip. If you are traveling to Vegas with the family I very much recommend at least checking them out and comparing prices and packages with the other hotels and resorts in the area. Keep in mind that comps are like money in the bank particularly when they involve food or activities that you were planning to do even without the comps. So you may be able to negotiate a much better deal even if you’re paying a couple more dollars a night by having free parking, complimentary meals, or tickets to events, shows, or attractions.

Now we’re on to my favorite part of the discussion. Dining options. Circus Circus does not disappoint when it comes to offering variety to its guests. In addition to The Steakhouse, there is The Garden Grill, Mexitallia, Pink Pony, Circus Buffet, Pizzeria, Westside Deli, and Barista Café. The food offerings accommodate varying budgets and familial needs by offering some kid friendly dining choices to visitors and guests as well. The good news however is that if these restaurants aren’t appealing to you there is another hotel, casino, or restaurant next door that has different fare to offer.

If you are looking for a great place to stay in Las Vegas along with the family there are very few hotels that will offer the overall environment of fun and wonder that you will find at Circus Circus. In addition to the wonderful rooms, the great food, the casino, and The Adventuredome Theme Park you will find that the shows here are as kid friendly and entertaining for the entire family as the atmosphere in general. This is a great vacation destination anywhere. Considering the fact that it is in Las Vegas and it is very nearly the perfect vacation retreat for those with children.

Travel Options While Vacationing in Mexico

Posted by admin on 17th November 2008

Travel to mexico

Vacationing in Mexico is something that many individuals, families, and couples do.  If you are interested in or you are planning on visiting Mexico, you may have to find ways to travel.  Unless you are staying at a beach resort, spa resort, or golf resort, it is likely that you will want to get out and see everything that Mexico has to offer.  If you plan on traveling while on vacation in Mexico, you have a number of different options.

Perhaps, the most preferred method of travel is driving.  Most individuals fly into Mexico; however, some drive.  If you drive into Mexico, it is likely that you would want to use you own car to travel.  Driving in Mexico is not as hard as many people expect. The main thing that you need to be concerned with is the documents and insurance that is needed to drive in Mexico.

If you are planning on using your car to travel in or around Mexico, you will have to file for a vehicle import permit.  These permits can be obtained before you leave for Mexico or your can obtain them as soon as you arrive.  Vehicle import permits are important because without one you could be incarcerated, fined, or have your vehicle impounded.

In addition in acquiring a vehicle import permit, you will also need to have car insurance.  Unfortunately, too many individuals believe that their current car insurance policy will cover their Mexico vacation.  In most cases, this is not true. To obtain car insurance while in Mexico, you will have to find a Mexican auto insurance company or one that operates on an international level. When first scheduling your Mexico vacation, it is advised that you obtain auto insurance for your trip.

As previously mentioned, not all travelers enter Mexico by driving themselves. If you choose to fly into Mexico, you can still use road travel to get around.  A large number of tourist make the decision to rent a car.  In Mexico, car rentals are a cheap and fairly easy way to travel.

Similar to car rental policies in the Untied States, you must be at least twenty-five years old to rent a vehicle.  Other requirements may include, but are not limited to, having a valid driver’s license and a current auto insurance policy.  As with driving your own vehicle, you may need to obtain auto insurance from a company in Mexico.

Traveling by train, in Mexico, can be an amazing experience.  In addition to getting to your destination, you will find that a train ride is a great way to see all that Mexico has to offer. Traditional train rides can take you from one destination to another.  In addition to traditional train rides, you will find that Mexico offers a number of train tours. Similar to boat tours, these tours are a great way for you to sightsee while traveling to another part of the country.

In addition to car rentals, driving yourself, or taking the train, you can also travel around Mexico by taking the bus.  In many areas of Mexico, traveling by bus comes highly recommend.  Buses depart from popular Mexico vacation destinations, often, on an hourly basis.  Buses are available throughout Mexico, even in vacation destinations that are not as well-known or popular. No matter where you are located, it should be possible for you catch a bus.

Traveling by car, bus, or train is often viewed as the only ways to travel around Mexico. It may also be possible for you to travel by boat. The only downside to traveling by boat is that you are presented with a limited number of travel options.  If you are interested in traveling from one coastal city to the next, boat travel may be a great way to get to your next destination.

Whichever method of travel you select, you should be able to get to your next stop.  By selecting the proper method of travel, you may be able to see amazing historical sites along the way.
